Still quite can’t believe Richard H. Kirk — who was a member of Cabaret Voltaire, alongside Stephen Mallinder and Chris Watson — is no longer with us. Just seems weird.
Befriended him when he was releasing loads of excellent stuff on his Intone label. Was a pleasure to meet and hang out with him at this unforgettable event from the Soul Jazz Records crew at the Electrowerkz.
Also on the bill were A Certain Ratio, Andrew Weatherall (RIP), Trevor Jackson, Jerry Dammers as well as the 100% Dynamite Sound System.
I managed to nick one of the flags from the wall and I still have it. What does it say? ‘The Sound Of The Police’.
