Archived Gallery #025 — Murcof

Murcof. Lock Tavern, Camden Town, London.
4th July 2002.

For a while, totally loved The Lock Tavern venue in Camden Town. Not the greatest sound system in the world but dug the atmosphere. And as you all know, I Love A Party With A Happy Atmosphere!

Anyway, Murcof had just released the incredible ‘Martes’ on The Leaf Label a few months before this gig and I distinctly remember the buzz around it all.

And it didn’t disappoint. Would have been nice to experience it in a larger, more-widescreen venue (and that did happen over time).

But this was a perfect intimate introduction to what I think is one of the most essential electronic releases ever.
