Sonar Festival. CCCB, Barcelona, Spain.
11th — 14th June 2003.

If Im honest, I’d kinda given up on the night-time rave-a-thon at the Fira De Barcelona, even with likes of Bjork headlining. The program in the day at the CCCB was way more direct and adventurous.

The line-up was pretty amazing and the weather matched the vibes. But really the overriding memories I have of that year went beyond the Sonar directive.

Satellite parties and events, gatherings with friends old and new. My favourite was following a group of random graffiti artists one sweltering night as they tagged the city with their astonishing stencil designs.

The other less-than-favourite recall was being mugged at knifepoint off La Rambla.
